Why I Created How We Got Here
The story behind the name
How We Got Here was born from something I realized as a college student trying to break into sports and entertainment: access is everything.
The entertainment industry does not have a clear pipeline. There is no single recruiting cycle, no standard path, no guaranteed ladder. Careers are built through conversations, informational interviews, relationships, and moments of courage. I started to understand that sitting down with someone and asking real questions can change your entire trajectory.
As I navigated my own journey at Brown, working in sports media and building relationships across music and athletics, I saw how powerful honest conversations could be. That realization led me to create both this podcast and a course on emerging careers in entertainment, designed to pull back the curtain on industries that often feel impossible to enter.
Each episode features candid conversations with elite professionals in sports, music, and media, paired with short-form immersive day in the life content. You see the process, the pivots, the uncertainty, and the reasoning behind the decisions.
Because careers in entertainment are not linear. They are layered, personal, and often built quietly over time. This podcast exists to hold space for those stories and to remind anyone building their own path that there is no single way to get there.

Hi, I’m Hannah.
I’m a Brown University student building my career at the intersection of sports, and media. Over the past few years, I have worked in sports social media, collaborated with athletes and artists, and spent countless hours reaching out for informational interviews, trying to understand how this industry actually works.
What I discovered is simple but powerful. Careers in entertainment are not linear. There is no single pipeline. Most opportunities are born from conversations.
That realization changed everything for me.
How We Got Here grew out of the informational interviews and honest conversations that shaped my own path. I wanted to create a space where professionals could share not just their titles, but the pivots, risks, doubts, and decisions that built their careers.
Through candid interviews and immersive day-in-the-life footage captured, I document what success really looks like behind the scenes.
I am building my career in real time. This podcast is part of that journey.
